Malacologist Dr. Guido Pastorino is one of the pioneers in the study of Limnoperma fortunei in Argentina. He is presently a CONICET researcher working on marine molluscs. The photograph was taken during the XV Brasilian Malacology Meeting, which took place from the 21st to the 25th July 1997 at Florianapolis, Brazil.

   Dr. Pablo Penchaszadeh leads the invading bivalves work group at Buenos Aires National University (UBA). The photograph was taken during the Potomac river cruise, at the World Congress of Malacology - Washington. 25th to 30th July 1998- Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History.

   Thomas Nalepa, specialist in Dreissena polymorpha or zebra mussel, invited Dr Darrigran to dictate a seminary on Invading bivalves in South America. After the dissertation, Dr. G. Darrigran visited the facilities and laboratories of the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory. Michigan, July 2003.

  Diarmaid Or Foighil, President of the American Malacological Society and organizer of the 69th Annual Meeting (Ann Arbor, Michigan,  USA, July 2003), invited Dr Darrigran to expose in the symposium: "Non-Marine Molluscan Exotics - The Future is to Foreing Ecosystem"
