II International Congress of the European Malacological Society (Vigo, Spain; 9th – 13th of September, 2002) Dr. Gustavo Darrigran and "Rafa" Araujo, the pioneer Spanish malacologist in the topic of Dreissena polymorpha in Spain, maintain a friendly and valuable interchange.
     
   
     
Dr. Jesús Troncoso, president of II International Congress of the European Malacological Society (Vigo, Spain – 9th to 13 th of September, 2002). In a friendship and camaraderie atmosphere, he invited Dr Gustavo Darrigran to dictate a conference on Invading freshwater bivalves of freshwater of South America.
     
   
   
   
Jaume Baguña, University of the Faculty of Biology, University of Barcelona, invited Dr. Gustavo Darrigran to expose a conference (17/09/02) about the Economic and environmental problem: freshwater macrofouling in South America, similar problem which begins to undergo in Spain, after the invasion of zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha).
